ISO14001认证审核过程就是收集客观证据，将收集到的客观证据与审核依据进行比较低，然后对组织的环境管理体系进行客观评价的过程，整个审核过程的最终审核依据是ISO14001，始终强调了额观性，审核员不能将自己的观点和看法强加于组织，当我们说组织的某一客观事实存在不符合时，是指该客观事实与审核依据不一致，而不是指组织的客观事实与审核员观点或看法的不一致，审核员在审核时应特别注意这一点，ISO14001标准只是提出实施环境管理体系应达到的最终要求，而不是技术标准，组织采取什么方式，通过什么手段，运用什么措施来达到这一最终要求是组织根据自己的人力、物力和财力以及其他各方面的因素决定的，审核不应要求组织应采取什么方式，通过什么手段，运用什么措施来达到ISO14001标准的要求。

如审核法律少其它要求时，ISO14001一半管理体系标准对于法律和其它要求提出了三处要求：
