它首次在全球范围内定义了社会责任,认为社会责任是“一个组织用透明、合乎道德规范的行为,对它的决策或者活动在社会和环境中产生的影响负责”,其性质是“对社会负责任的组织行为”,隐含着要求组织基于社会价值考虑组织行为的过程和结果。
