质量体系认证亦称“质量体系注册”。由公正的第三方体系认证机构，依据正式发布的质量体系标准，对企业的质量体系实施评定，并颁发体系认证证书和发布注册名录，向公众证明企业的质量体系符合某一质量体系标准的全部活动。
