1996年，美国布鲁金斯学会的两位专家，用计算机模拟，开发出来了一个人工社会财富积累的模型，称之为“糖域”。

In 1996, two experts from the Brookings Institution of America developed a model of artificial social wealth accumulation by computer simulation, called "sugar domain".

他们的本意是通过计算机模拟，可以研究包括环境变迁、遗传继承、贸易往来、市场机制、财富积累等等广泛的社会现象。特别是，在计算机模拟过程中，可以随时抽取一些变量进行分析，譬如糖人的人均寿命、活动范围、最优路径选择，等等。

Their original intention is to study a wide range of social phenomena including environmental changes, genetic inheritance, trade exchanges, market mechanisms, wealth accumulation and so on through computer simulation. In particular, in the process of computer simulation, some variables can be extracted at any time for analysis, such as the life expectancy of sugar people, the range of activities, the best path choice, and so on.

计算机模拟的结果，和现实社会一样残酷。

The result of computer simulation is as cruel as the real world.
