6月25日，美国绿色建筑委员会对上海世博会城市最佳实践区进行LEED—ND铂金级预认证授牌，城市最佳实践区成为北美地区外首个获得该级别认证的项目。

据美国绿色建筑委员会介绍，给予城市最佳实践区LEED—ND铂金级认证，是对上海世博会后世博园区后续开发利用坚持绿色低碳理念的肯定。据上海世博发展集团介绍，城市最佳实践区后续开发中保留了部分按低碳生态标准建设的国内外建筑案例，大量采用了江水源热泵集中供能、太阳能、风电等清洁能源，街道设施运用生态设计原理，交通布局中，引入开放空间，提供安全、便利、舒适的慢行环境。

6月27日，美国绿色建筑委员会在上海举行亚太会员会议，宣布即将使用全新的LEED升级版评估系统，对第一批铂金级项目将进行免费认证，以鼓励全球范围内对绿色建筑的升级实践，上海世博会城市最佳实践区即为第一批获得LEED—ND铂金级预认证授牌项目。

据了解，升级版LEEDv4将于今年秋天正式发布，以过去几版认证标准为核心基础，只是整体认证流程更加顺畅，更突出强调建筑性能的表现，将进一步提升绿色建筑的行业标准。目前有11个国家的100多个项目在使用该标准进行认证。
