2012年2月，针对以螺旋藻为原料的保健食品存在重金属超标隐患，国家食品药品监督管理局组织中国食品药品检定研究院、北京市药品检验所等7家检验机构对市场上部分以螺旋藻为原料保健食品开展了铅、砷、汞重金属专项监测。根据市场产品抽样和媒体报道情况，国家食品药品监督管理局于2月29日布置对可疑产品开展专项监督检查。结果显示，康爱斯牌螺旋藻片、澳奈斯绿色经典牌螺旋藻片、鸿洋神螺旋藻3个产品为假冒保健食品；福建省幸福生物科技有限公司生产的幸福来牌螺旋藻片(康特力斯)20111214批次的产品铅、砷超过限量标准；媒体报道的绿A牌螺旋藻精片、汤臣倍健牌螺旋藻片和金奥力牌三达紫光螺旋藻片等其他产品铅含量在本次监督检查中结果均未超过国家限量标准(有关结果见附表)。对于假冒和超过限量标准的产品，国家食品药品监督管理局责成相关食品药品监督管理部门依法严肃处理，要求加强螺旋藻为原料的保健食品监督检查，保障消费者食用安全。
