        英国：在全世界，英国首先在建筑业中应用了ISO9000系列标准，约有300家建筑企业获得认定。从1991年起，国防部把公共工程以指名竞争方式发包给取得认定的建筑企业，除了国防部以外，交通部道路建设局以及一些地方政府，把取得认定作为参加公共工程投标的条件。1993年一年的公共工程发包的60000个项目中，7000项是以取得认定为条件的。
