在常用标准草案ISO 817中，对于制冷剂的安全分类为1级-不具可燃性，2级-低易燃性和3级-高易燃性；

在传统分类的基础上，现正建议推进新的子类，2L，即按照制冷剂的燃烧速度再分类。
