2008年初，韩国有10家公司提供产品参加由政府支持的碳标志试点计划。

项目韩国低碳产品认证由承担III型EDP项目的韩国生态产品研究院（KOECO）的负责。2008年8月有意向参加试点认证的公司进行相关培训，并在10月进行试点认证的申请，2009年1月-11月韩国全面启动Cool Label计划。

韩国低碳产品认证计划中设计了两种类型的碳标志。其一为“温室气体排放量标志”，在标志上显示产品的碳足迹。

目前，韩国有方便米饭、航空运输、TFT-LCD 玻璃衬底、燃气锅炉、水过滤设备、洗衣机、衣柜、洗发液、豆腐十种产品和服务获得第一类认证的碳标志，即进行了温室气体排放认证。

第二种为“低碳”标志，对获得“温室气体排放”标志的产品达到国家有关碳足迹的最低消减目标时，可获得“低碳”标志。

今后在积累一定行业数据之后，韩国会逐渐开展第二类“低碳标志”认证。
