我今天还想讲讲「平常心」这个话题。

面对动态变化的世界,我们经常会惴惴不安,担忧未来或者懊恼过去,很多精力和时间都会浪费在面对波动上。

我觉得,在这样的环境中,保持平常心,是听起来容易但做起来难的事。

为什么平常心这么重要?因为保持平常心才能做出非常之事。

保持平常心的人,比较放松,内心没有扭曲,观察事物实事求是,更有耐心,往往更能把事情做好。
People who keep an ordinary mind are more relaxed, have no inner distortion, observe things realistically, have more patience, and are often more able to do things well.
大多时候,人在没有偏执或者杂念的情况下,都能够有很好的判断,心态越平稳,才能扎根越牢,才能够有魄力有想象力去做更难企及的事情。
Most of the time, without paranoia or distractions, people can have a good judgment. The more stable their mentality is, the more firmly they can take root and have the courage and imagination to do more difficult things.
我第一点想说的是:要用平常心对待自己。

一些媒体在报道创业公司、人物故事的时候,希望加上戏剧性,要么经历显得很传奇,要么人物特点非常突出。

我以前接受采访的时候,对方也希望我分享曲折的故事。我常常说没什么特别的。

其实在我看来,大部分事情,都是有原因、有道理的,没有特别难以解释或者特别不寻常的部分。

第二,要用平常心对待预期。

工作和生活中也是如此,当我们带着预期的时候,就会动作扭曲,容易搞复杂。

「我应当如何如何」,如果你在乎自己或者他人的预期,那么你在思考或者决策时,多多少少会受到束缚。各种各样的标签都会带来心理负担。
"What should I do?" if you care about your own or other people's expectations, you will be more or less constrained in your thinking or decision-making. All kinds of labels bring psychological burden.
比如说高管的标签,可能让人因此不好意思提出一个看似很简单的问题,也可能没法像用户一样去深入体验产品场景,如果自己定位是大公司,就会想,大公司应该怎么样办年会,大公司要有宏大的战略,要开动员会。

公司强调不提倡title也是如此。

title会让人产生比较,副总裁就要管多少人,要有怎么样的汇报形式,需要和什么级别的同行对接,产生各种形式的束缚。

又或者年轻人的标签,会让你不敢提出想法、建议或者批评。把自己定位成前端工程师,就觉得不需要看机器学习的知识。

第三点,平常心对待过去与未来。

不安、焦虑、紧张、压力、忧虑—— 一切的恐惧都因过于关注未来而引起;

《The Power of Now》重点讲,人们用太多时间去忧虑未来和纠结过去,很少时间注意力在当下,关注当下最应该做的事,当下的感受,当下的判断。

第四点,要用平常心对待竞争对手。
Fourth, we should treat our competitors with an ordinary mind.
要把竞争当作常态。不要想逃脱竞争,竞争也是好事。甚至我觉得,不应该通过并购来结束竞争。
We should take competition as the norm. Don't try to escape competition. Competition is good. Even I don't think we should end the competition through mergers and acquisitions.
我们看到很多通过并购消灭对手的公司,越来越自我感觉良好,最后都懈怠了。

竞争对手是很好的蓝军。竞争对手可能有产品创新,市场策略等好的方法值得你学习。
The competition is a good blue team. Competitors may have good methods of product innovation, marketing strategy, etc., which are worth learning.
哪怕是竞争对手推动的批评文章,我们也认真看,而不是愤怒。除了竞争对手,没有人会那么认真挑你问题。
